Real Salt Lake and Sebastian Jaime Mutually Agree to Part Ways

Sebastian Jaime Goodbye

SANDY, Utah (Thursday, January 21, 2016) – Real Salt Lake and FW Sebastian Jaime have mutually agreed to part ways, the club announced on Thursday.  Per league and club policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

“We would like to thank Sebastian for his contributions to the club the past two seasons,” RSL General Manager Craig Waibel said.  “His next opportunity in Chile is a great chance for him to play while still being close to his extended family in Argentina.”

Jaime originally signed with RSL on August 8, 2014, and played in 33 matches (25 starts) across all competitions with six goals and two assists in two seasons with the Claret-and-Cobalt.  He rounded into form during the middle of the 2015 season and amassed four goals and two assists in one seven match stretch.  He finished the season with five goals and two assists in 20 matches, 17 of them in a starting role.

“Sebastian made some great contributions to the club and I appreciate coaching a player so committed to the organization,” Head Coach Jeff Cassar said.

Upon termination of his contract, Jaime has signed with Universidad Catolica in Chile, where he previously had played for La Serena (2010) and Union Espanola (2011-2014).
