After defeating the Seattle Sounders 2 in the 4th round of the U.S. Open Cup on Tuesday, RSL will be hosting the Portland Timbers in the round of 16. This next match in the tournament will be played on July 1.
Aaron Morton of the Deseret News writes, “The road to the U.S. Open Cup final just got a little bit easier for Real Salt Lake.” Morton adds, “RSL got a favorable draw Thursday morning as the Claret and Cobalt will host the Portland Timbers…”
“The Timbers eliminated the Seattle Sounders on Tuesday in a wild 3-1 extra-time victory, which the Sounders finished the game with seven players after three red cards and one injury,” writes Morton.
