News Stand: RSL center backs to be tested

Chris Schuler vs Philadelphia 0314

News Stand 6/15/15

In the opening minutes of Real Salt Lake’s 0-0 draw against Colorado, Jamison Olave suffered an injury that will keep him out of action for 10 – 14 days.  With Elias Vasquez gone on national-team duty and Chris Schuler recently returning to training, RSL will need to rely on their bench in the upcoming matches.

When talking about his defensive depth, in an article by Chris Kamrani of the Salt Lake Tribune, RSL Head Coach Jeff Cassar said, “It gets a little thin.”

In the same article, Cassar, talks of Chris Schuler returning to training saying, “He’s getting there; we’re just keeping the lines of communication open, working back to fitness.”

Writes Kamrani, “Aaron Maund, Plus RSL academy products such as Justin Glad and Phanuel Kavita, will be part of the conversation ahead of Tuesday’s U.S. Open Cup match against Seattle Sounders 2 at Rio Tinto Stadium."
