News Stand: Altered formation helps RSL find success

Team vs Chicago 0509

News Stand 5/13/15

With another week of Real Salt Lake training sessions came another update on the health of Sebastian Jaime, Joao Plata and Javier Morales as the three stars all inch toward their returns.

By the time Jordan Allen leaves for the U-20 World Cup, writes Matt Montgomery on RSL Soapbox, RSL may have not one, not two, but maybe even three players return to contention.

Chris Kamrani (@ChrisKamrani) of the Salt Lake Tribune tweeted after training on Tuesday, “Cassar on the progress of Plata and Jaime: I’d venture to say that after this game [at Montreal on Saturday] they’ll be more involved.” It may take some time to get these players integrated back into the system, but in the long run this can only be good news for Real Salt Lake.

Montgomery also poses the question of whether or not RSL will continue using the 4-3-3 formation once these players return to form.
