Each week pundits around the web rank the 20 teams in Major League Soccer in their own power rankings.
Here at RealSaltLake.com, we like to see where each of those experts places Real Salt Lake, so here is what they are saying after Week 5. In each ranking, RSL jumped up the list, gaining one spot in both the MLSsoccer.com and ESPNFC.com rankings and three spots in the SI.com ranking after a 1-0 road win over the San Jose Earthquakes.
MLSsoccer.com – 5
“Went on the road and got an ugly win. This doesn't feel like the RSL soccer of yore, but it's been damn effective thus far in 2015. It helps that Javier Morales is apparently immune to the ravages of time.”
ESPNFC.com – 4
“If Portland gets Rimando'd, then San Jose gets Morales'd, as in Javier Morales, who scored his ninth goal in 15 appearances against the Earthquakes to lead RSL to a 1-0 win. RSL might not be as possession-based as in the past, but so far it's working.”
SI.com – 5
“After narrowly defeating Toronto a couple weeks ago, Salt Lake came away from Avaya Stadium with another one-goal victory, thanks again to Javier Morales.”
