SANDY, Utah – Real Salt Lake goalkeeper Nick Rimando has been nominated for MLS Save of the Week!
Rimando is up for the award for his historic stop on Colorado forward Deshorn Brown in stoppage time of RSL's 1-0 win at Colorado Rapids. The clean sheet marked Rimando's 112th of his career, tying him for the MLS all-time shutout record with retired goalkeeper Kevin Hartman. This week, Rimando is up against Montreal Impact goalkeeper Troy Perkins, Colorado 'keeper Clint Irwin, Sporting Kansas City's Andy Gruenebaum and D.C. United goalkeeper Bill Hamid, who all had impressive stops of their own.
RSL has a total of four Save of the Week wins this season, with Rimando winning back-to-back MLS Save of the Weeks for week one and two, and backup goalkeeper Jeff Attinella taking home the award in weeks 11 and 13.
