SANDY, UT – Real Salt Lake has announced that Captain Kyle Beckerman will miss the 2014 AT&T MLS All-Star Game due to an injury picked up in RSL’s 1-0 win at Colorado Rapids last Saturday. Beckerman will be replaced by Portland Timbers Designated Player DF Liam Ridgewell.
Real Salt Lake GK Nick Rimando, who just tied the MLS all-time shutout record with 112 clean sheets, will represent the Claret-and-Cobalt in Portland. The AT&T MLS All-Stars will face the 2014 Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich at Providence Park on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. MT. The summer showcase will be broadcast live on ESPN2 and UniMas.
RSL will return to MLS action this Saturday, when it hosts D.C. United in a 2013 U.S. Open Cup Final rematch at 8:00 p.m. at Rio Tinto Stadium.
