Four RSL players to begin Gold Cup tonight

SANDY, Utah – Real Salt Lake’s four internationals will begin CONCACAF Gold Cup play on Tuesday night, with midfielder Kyle Beckerman, defender Tony Beltran, goalkeeper Nick Rimando and the U.S. facing off against Belize and forward Alvaro Saborio and Costa Rica taking on Cuba.


The two Group C matches will be broadcast live on Fox Soccer Channel starting with Costa Rica-Cuba at 6:30 p.m. MT. Beckerman, Beltran, Rimando and the U.S. will take on Belize on FSC immediately afterwards, with kick scheduled for 9:00 p.m. MT.


Saborio will captain Costa Rica throughout the tournament and is a surefire starter on Tuesday. Beckerman and Rimando figure to start for the U.S. after both made Jurgen Klinsmann’s Starting XI in the Americans’ 6-0 win over Guatemala on Friday night. Beltran will be in the mix for a spot in the First XI at right back.


All four players will be in action at Rio Tinto Stadium on Saturday, when the U.S. will take on Cuba and Costa Rica will face off against Belize in a Gold Cup doubleheader. The U.S.-Cuba match will kickoff at 1:30 p.m. MT and the Costa Rica-Belize game will follow at 4:00 p.m. MT. Click here to buy tickets for the Gold Cup doubleheader
