Impressions on the game....
“What is important is understanding why the corner kick comes and how it comes. It bounces sometimes and you get punished for it. I think there was a lot of space in the midfield today. We had a lot of gaps to play in and I think our guys took advantage of them to create as many chances as we have on the road. It means something.”
Were you frustrated by the outcome...
“It’s frustrating because I don’t feel like we got a lot of early leads this year. To be in the driver’s seat at the beginning of the game and to have a little bit of a different feel and yet if we look back at that moment after we were up 1-0, we had two glaring chances to go up to 2-0 and then Montreal started coming to the game, so congratulations to them. All in all, I saw a lot of positive ways on how Real Salt Lake approached the match, we were aggressive the whole night and I think that sometimes it’s going to happen.”
Do you think the forwards caused your defenders a lot of trouble....
“I think Devon and Garcia worked extremely hard and used their attributes to their benefit. All in all, I think it was a pretty well played match by Real Salt Lake. We just have to look at how we finished because if we would have walked out with even one point I think we would have felt pretty good about ourselves.”

How did the game slip away...
“Lack of concentration at the end. It’s a bit unfortunate for us, if we did a little bit better on our chances we could have been in a position that, even if they scored at the end, we still could have been in the lead. But we didn’t take all our chances, so we paid the price.”
Can you talk about the frustration of having that early lead and losing the match...
“Of course we’re disappointed and frustrated, we have to try and learn from it. I think a loss like this can really help us move forward, we need to get a good week of practice in and then when we get back into this position we’ll get something out of it. We were able to create quite a lot of chances, but we weren’t able to capitalize on them and they were able to on more than one occasion.”

Impressions on the game...
“It was 1-1, then 2-2 and then it was 3-2, disappointing for sure. It was an amateur way to fall to a team that I thought we played a good game against. With the veterans we have on this team, we should have been able to pull back and know that a point on the road is okay. So it’s disappointing for sure, but we have to move on. We should have been able to clear their last corner kick or beat them to the ball and that’s one thing we will look at, clear up and make sure it doesn’t happen again.”
Was there some kind of long distance competition between you and Perkins during the game...
“Not at all, we played a game against Montreal and they played a game against Salt Lake, so it’s not about the goalkeepers competing it’s about getting points and so Montreal won today and we didn’t.”

On his team’s come from behind performance…
“Today we played against a very good team, and our schedule we’ve had over the last few weeks hasn’t been easy. We showed a desire to win. We have shown that we can play football, but we also have shown that we can play good football. We had a bit of luck to score in the last minute, but we earned it as we didn’t give up until the last minute. I love this team and how they have developed the desire to win games and play with character.”
On Ferrari’s late winner…
“That’s how the story of football unfolds. He was a little bit unlucky because he deflected the ball with his foot that resulted in the first goal. He was ready to make up for that mistake in the first half, and he showed a lot that character to go and erase that and he did it in great fashion with a winning goal.”
On fatigue of playing 6 games in 18 days…
“For sure, we were pretty tired, but we fought through that. That’s part of being a character team. We were heroic today because our schedule has been tough, with a lot of travelling. I was tired today, but I don’t have to play. And we did that against a really good team.”

On the importance of getting the win…
“We played two good games on the road, but were a little unfortunate to lose some points, so it was really important to win this game. It was a big win for us. We won a tough game against a good team and it was a character win for us. Sometimes you play a difficult match and need those character wins.”
On Ferrari’s performance…
“Matteo is a very important player for us. He scored a huge goal for us. It’s not easy for a defender to score, especially at the end of the game, with fatigue setting in, but he got up into the box and helped us win. If we don’t win today, we would have been three games without a win, so it was very important.”

On redeeming himself…
“I’ve had a tough few games, with (Thierry) Henry’s bicycle kick goal last game, to the own goal today, so I’ve had a tough few days. Before this goal, I’ve only scored two goals in my career, so scoring a game winner feels great.”
On the importance of the win
“The three points keep us near the top of the standings, so it was extremely important for us. It was a tough game for us, with some players like Jeb and Hassoun who play like six games in just a few weeks. They are my heroes. We are a little tired, but we’ll be ready for our cup game on Wednesday.”
