RSL’s “Quick Restarts”

  • Goalkeeper Nick Rimando’s inclusion on the U.S. Men’s National Team’s roster for next Wednesday’s high-profile friendly at Italy could very well give a glimpse of head coach Jurgen Klinsmann’s depth chart at the position heading into the start of World Cup Qualifying this summer. Rimando joins Galaxy duo Landon Donovan and Edson Buddle and the Houston Dynamo’s Geoff Cameron as the only MLS representatives on the 23-man roster.

  • Real Salt Lake’s 1-0 result over New York last night was important for two reasons – the win and the shutout. The victory and clean sheet were RSL’s first such results in three preseason contests in 2012, following on the heels of 1-1 draws against Vancouver and D.C. United towards the end of the Phoenix/Casa Grande swing earlier in the month.
