RSL Returns to Sandy Saturday to Host D.C. United as
Part of “Summer Kickoff, Presented by Zions Bank”
SANDY, Utah (Monday, June 13, 2011) – After embarking on
a two-game, East Coast swing last week, Real Salt Lake (6-3-3, 21 pts.;
5th in West) will return home to the friendly confines of Rio
Tinto Stadium this Saturday, June 18 to play host to D.C. United (4-5-4,
16 pts.; 5th in East). Kickoff for the second annual “Summer
Kickoff, presented by Zions Bank” event is set for 7:00 p.m. MT in
Sandy, and will be preceded by the Carnival Real pre-game festival on
the stadium’s East Lawn at 5:00 p.m.

The time for Real Salt Lake to move back to
the top of the Western Conference table is now, as the Utah side will play seven
of its next ten regular season contests at its Rio Tinto Stadium home, a
span stretching through its Aug. 6 date against the New York Red Bulls in
Sandy. That stretch begins Saturday with D.C. United, against whom RSL has
compiled a 5-4-3 regular season ledger against. All five RSL victories against
D.C. have come on Utah soil (5-1-0), including last season’s 3-0 triumph over
the Black-and-Red on July 31 [Saborío (13’), Findley (79’), González (93+’)].
