Real Salt Lake earned their first-ever point on the road at FC Dallas on Sunday, posting their second consecutive shutout but struggling to find their familiar offensive rhythm for the second match since losing midfielder Javier Morales to injury.
“It certainly wasn’t the prettiest night of soccer from either team,” RSL head coach Jason Kreis said told ESPN 700 Radio after the scoreless draw. “It’s important when you lose guys like (David) Ferreira and (Javier) Morales – it’s important to how you are going to attack, and it’s difficult to figure things out.”

RSL picked up their sixth shutout in eight matches in the draw, but have now been shut out in three of their last four league matches.
A weather delay of more than 100 minutes late in Sunday’s match certainly didn’t help with the team’s flow, but they still controlled 62 percent of the possession on the night. However, their attack was a bit lacking and the possession did not often lead to genuine scoring opportunities.
RSL managed just four shots, and only two of them on goal.
“For me the game was a bit dull, and I think mostly due to the weather,” Kreis told ESPN 700 Radio. “I know our guys were really affected by the humidity here.”
Defensively the club stuck together, despite the lengthy delay. Goalkeeper Nick Rimando was rarely threatened, aside from a gorgeous one-handed save on a shot by George John in the 24th minute.
“The guys responded well,” Kreis told ESPN 700 Radio, “and reacted when they needed to.”
