SANDY, Utah (Tuesday, September 21, 2010) – After arriving in Panama City on Monday, Real Salt Lake (2-1-0, 6 pts. in CCL play) will gear up for Wednesday’s critical Group A Matchweek 4 contest against Árabe Unido (1-2-0, 3 pts. in CCL play), with the 6:00 p.m. MT kickoff from Estadio Rommel Fernández in the Panamanian capital set to air on tape delay on Fox Soccer Channel at 9:00 p.m. MT. Fans will be able to follow the match live via a streaming video feed on (registration required) and RSL’s Official Twitter Feed, located at, while radio broadcast information is pending and will be announced by Wednesday morning by the RSL Communications Department.

Real Salt Lake is currently tied for the Group A lead with Mexico’s Cruz Azul on six points midway through the Group Stage of the regional competition, while Toronto FC and Árabe Unido both sit within striking distance of the leaders on three points. The other Group A fixture during Matchweek 4 will take place on Tuesday evening, when Cruz Azul will try and seek revenge for its opening loss at Toronto FC, the two sides set to meet at Estadio Azul in Mexico City at 6:00 p.m. MT (Fox Soccer Channel / TeleFutura)

RSL and Árabe Unido, last year’s champions of the Panamanian first division, have had one meeting prior to tomorrow night’s matchup, but the 2-1 win in the Utah side’s first-ever match in CCL play had enough action and antics for an entire group stage. The script was certainly not one penned by the Claret-and-Cobalt, their introduction to international competition starting unkindly when Árabe Unido FW Armando Cooper scored just eight minutes in for the visitors, who began falling to the turf en masse shortly thereafter. However, RSL FW Álvaro Saborío only picked up his play, first equalizing just before the halftime break by nodding home a pin-point cross delivered by DF Chris Wingert. The CONCACAF veteran was rewarded for his standout night in the waning moments of the match, as he put away a penalty kick opportunity early in the eight minutes of stoppage time tacked on after MF Nelson González was sent to the ground after receiving a hard challenge inside the Árabe Unido area.
