Real Salt Lake Shifts Focus to CONCACAF Champions
League Play for First Two Group A Contests;

SANDY, Utah (Monday, August 16, 2010) – After climbing to second place on
Major League Soccer’s overall table over the weekend, Real Salt Lake
(11-4-6, 39 pts.) will take a brief hiatus from regular season play over the
next two weeks to focus on its first-ever appearance in the CONCACAF
Champions League. The defending MLS Cup champions will start Group A
round-robin play in the regional club championship this Wednesday, Aug. 18,
when the Claret-and-Cobalt welcome Panamanian champs Arabe Unido to Rio
Tinto Stadium for an 8:00 p.m. kickoff.
Tickets for Wednesday’s historic
contest in Sandy, which cost just $15 in all seating areas (excluding
Club seats), remain available and can be purchased online at www.RealSaltLake.com and www.RioTintoStadium.com, over the
phone at 801-727-2700, and in person at the Rio Tinto Stadium Box
Office weekdays from 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
Real Salt Lake’s international
competition debut will be televised live by Fox Soccer Channel, while
fans can also follow the action as it unfolds via RSL’s official radio partners

After
having this weekend off from match action, Real Salt Lake will continue
CONCACAF Group A play during Matchweek #2 next Wednesday, Aug. 25, when
the Utah side will travel to Mexico City to face the runner-up of the
tournament each of the past two seasons, Cruz Azul. Kickoff for that contest
is slated for 6:00 p.m. MT, and fans can again follow live on Fox
Soccer Channel, ESPN 700, ESPN Deportes 1600-AM, and Homero 106.1-FM. Real
Salt Lake will look to make history during the trek down to Mexico City, as no
Major League Soccer side has been able to defeat a Primera Division team in
CONCACAF play on Mexican soil.

Panamanian Champs Arabe Unido to Hold Practice &
Media Availability at Rio Tinto Stadium on Tuesday Evening
Prior
to Wednesday’s CONCACAF Champions League Group A opener, the visiting champions
from Panama, Arabe Unido, will conduct a practice atRio Tinto
Stadium on Tuesday evening beginning at 5:30 p.m. MT. The training
session will be open to members of the media, with interview availability for
Arabe Unido players and coaches to follow.
