Career Summary

Real Salt Lake’s third round 2014 MLS SuperDraft pick, Joey Dillon joins the Claret-and-Cobalt after spending four years at Georgetown. A native of Rochester Hills, Mich., Dillon was a four-year starter at Georgetown, starting 83 of the 86 games he appeared in for the Hoyas. Dillon recorded one goal and four assists throughout his collegiate career.

The midfielder/defender helped lead the Hoyas to three NCAA Tournaments, including the National Championship Game in 2012. During Dillon’s tenure, Georgetown won three Big East Regular Season Championships and played in one Big East Tournament Championship Game. With Dillon’s two-way ability, the Hoyas lead the conference in 2012 in goals with 22 and ranked first in fewest goals allowed with four. 

The 22-year-old co-captained as a senior and was named All-Big East first-team and earned Big East Midfielder of the Year honors in 2013.

2012: Started all 26 games for the Blue & Gray ... Managed an assist in the 3-1 victory against Penn ... Had five shots on the year ... Played a key role in the midfield for the Hoyas playing a part in some of the biggest victories of the season ... Helped the defense to 10 shutouts for the year.

2011: Started in all 19 contests for the Blue & Gray ... Tallied six shots for the season ... Part of seven shutouts for the Hoyas.

2010: Earned a spot on the BIG EAST All-Rookie squad ... Appeared in all 20 contests with 17 starts to his credit ... Tallied one goal and three assists for five points in the midfield ... Notched assists in the first two games of the season with a helper against Northeastern and one in the win over No. 24 Michigan State ... Scored his first collegiate goal in the win over Adelphi which was the game winner ... Had an assist in the 6-0 victory over Seton Hall.
