The 12th overall pick in the 2012 MLS SuperDraft, Maund joined Real Salt Lake via trade with Toronto FC ahead of the 2013 season. After spending part of his time in Toronto as a defensive midfielder, Maund shifted back to his natural center back position with RSL, playing and starting three league games and one Open Cup match for the Claret-and-Cobalt. The 23-year-old defender had perhaps his best game of 2013 at his former club, playing all 90 minutes and turning in what former RSL Head Coach Jason Kreis called a “super” performance in RSL’s 1-0 win at Toronto FC on June 29, 2013.
