Forward Axel Kei

On how he set up forward Terron Williams's goals

"I just dribbled, he called my name and he was screaming. It was the right play, it was the right move, and perfect timing so I played him through. I trust him and it was a good finish."

On what's working as a team:

"There was a huge change. We lost so many games, so people started doubting themselves. But after our first and second win, there started to be more belief. The team started progressing and started winning games.

On the team’s togetherness:

“I personally think we’re all getting better and better and progressing. I feel like our team is more together and we are back in the game.”

On what he’s looking forward to the rest of the season:

“I’m looking forward to scoring more goals and maybe I’ll get my chance to go to the first team, or maybe in the next couple years, I’ll go overseas and play over there.”

On his chemistry with Axel Kei:

“Axel [Kei] and I are good friends off the field, we’ll be in each others’ rooms in the dorms just vibing and having fun. When he got the ball in that corner, I said, “Axel, turn,” and then he turned, found me, and then I scored.”

On winning in front of the fans:

“It feels amazing! Me, a young kid coming from the academy, getting to play professionally is a different level, a different experience, and I feel great.”

Head Coach Jamison Olave

On current unbeaten streak

“I think consistency is key. This is the same team that was playing against Wolves, Sporting Kansas City, against Chelsea. You can see we are the same team. They have been very disciplined offensively and defensively as well and that’s why we have been able to string together these victories.”

On the recent success from a variety of players

“That’s what is good for me as a coach. When you have multiple players on the bench that you can bring in and make an impact, that’s what’s best for me because we know anyone can play. Even in training, we have a very competitive environment because they compete in training for the spot. When you have that type of competition during the week, they’re going to perform on the pitch.”

\On the defensive depth and performance tonight: \

That’s what I’ve been saying, we have so much competition. Golden [Mafwenta] and Christian [ Nydegger]both know the position. Nydegger is a player that plays in the midfield or at center back and he’s always going to compete and perform. It wasn’t ideal because they don’t know as much about Center back but the good thing is they work during the week and compete. It’s also good because we can see how they played well tonight.”
