EL PASO, Texas (Tuesday, September 28, 2021) – Real Monarchs travel to El Paso Locomotive FC on Wednesday, September 29 at Southwest University Park in the final match between the two sides this season. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. MT and can be streamed live on ESPN+.

Head-to-Head: El Paso Locomotive have the advantage over Real Monarchs with an all-time record of 8-0-2 in ten matches played. 

The previous match between the sides ended in a 3-1 defeat for the Monarchs at Southwest University Park on July 31, 2021 with Charlie Wehan scoring the lone goal for the visitors. 

Connections: El Paso midfielder Sebastian Velasquez previously played for Real Salt Lake from 2012-14, appearing in 43 matches, and for Real Monarchs from 2017-18 during which he logged 49 appearances and helped lift the 2017 regular-season trophy. 

Notes: Monarchs forward Malik Johnson will miss the match after being dismissed from the match against New York when he received a second yellow card in the 90th minute. The Monarchs will look to build on this past weekend’s result and earn its first-ever win against a division-leading El Paso side that is undefeated at home so far this season. Real Monarchs are 27-51-17 all-time on the road, while Locomotive FC is 24-5-9 all-time as hosts.
