Week 8 Power Rankings

Week 8 of the Major League Soccer season saw RSL battle it out with expansion side Atlanta United at Rio Tinto Stadium. Was Rusnak’s goal enough to continue climbing the power ranking charts? Check out the latest rankings below and leave us a comment below:

“If you're going to give the ball away in your defensive half against Atlanta, you're going to lose. Doesn't matter how well you play in other facets of the game – those turnovers are killer.”

“With the team's new-manager bump clearly out of steam, Mike Petke's job is going to get a lot more difficult. First and foremost is working out how to avoid the mistakes that hurt his team in a 3-1 loss to Atlanta. That gets a little tougher with a pair of injuries to Nick Rimando and Chris Wingert (prognoses pending).”

“After two straight wins under Mike Petke, Real Salt Lake suffered its first serious setback in Week 8. Saturday’s 3–1 loss to Atlanta was notable not just for the result, but also in how it came together. RSL looked slow and lackadaisical in multiple facets of the game–pretty much the opposite traits that propelled the team in its time as a Western Conference power.”
