A History of SuperDraft Picks: No. 13 selection and Real Salt Lake

Real Salt Lake picks 13th overall in Friday’s MLS SuperDraft, so now is as good a time as any to go through the history of No. 13 picks in the SuperDraft.  There are some highlights, to be sure, but it should offer some perspective on what to expect from the pool of talent.


In addition to Colorado Rapids Head Coach Pablo Mastroeni going 13th in the 1998 MLS SuperDraft to the Miami Fusion, 2016 MLS Cup MVP Stefan Frei was picked 13th by Toronto in 2009.  Others have found varying levels of success as well.
