SANDY, Utah (Monday, November 7, 2016) – Real Salt Lake MF Omar Holness received a call-up for international duty this week, as Jamaica takes on Suriname on November 13 (6 p.m. MT) in a Caribbean Cup Qualifier.

Holness, 22, has three caps for Jamaica and will join the Reggae Boyz for Sunday’s meeting with Suriname.  Previously, the match had been scheduled for October 5, but had to be rescheduled due to safety concerns surrounding Hurricane Matthew.  Jamaica and Suriname are currently tied atop the Group 1 standings, with both teams topping Guyana last month.

A product of the University of North Carolina, Holness was picked fifth overall in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft and made nine appearances in his rookie campaign, including three as a starter.  In addition, Holness also made eight appearances for Real Monarchs in the USL.

This season, Real Salt Lake returned to the MLS Cup Playoffs for the eighth time in the last nine seasons, going 12-12-10 to finish sixth in the Western Conference.  After falling 3-1 to the LA Galaxy in the Knockout Round, the club now looks toward the 2017 season, with preseason starting on January 23.
