Real Salt Lake had an eventful week and on Wednesday the dramatic comeback draw with the LA Galaxy featured a remarkable goal by Joao Plata that is a candidate for the AT&T Goal of the Week.
Trailing 3-1 in the 67th minute, RSL needed a spark to ignite the comeback. The Claret-and-Cobalt got just that when Plata netted his second goal of the match. Tony Beltran sent the ball into the box from the right side, finding Yura Movsisyan at the edge of the six-yard box. With two players collapsing on him, Movsisyan played a first-time ball back to Plata, who ripped a host past Brian Rowe to cut the lead in half.
For his two-goal effort against LA, Plata was named to the bench in the MLSsoccer.com Team of the Week.
