For just the third time this season, Real Salt Lake had two players make the MLSsoccer.com Team of the Week this week after a 2-1 win over the Colorado Rapids to spring into second place in the Supporters’ Shield standings and to win the Rocky Mountain Cup.
Midfielder Kyle Beckerman made his first appearance on the list this season while forward Yura Movsisyan was on the list for the second time.
Beckerman celebrated his call-up to the U.S. National Team with a standout performance in the match to control the midfield while Movsisyan’s two goals paced RSL to lead the Claret-and-Cobalt to the club’s sixth comeback win of the season.
Joining Beckerman and Movsisyan on Team of the Week were goalkeeper Tim Howard (Colorado Rapids); defenders Keegan Rosenberry (Philadelphia Union), Nicolai Naess (Columbus Crew SC) and Hassoun Camara (Montreal Impact); midfielders Michael Barrios (FC Dallas), Felipe (New York Red Bulls), Diego Valeri (Portland Timbers) and Kaka (Orlando City); and forward Patrick Mullins (D.C. United).
