Rimando Voted Best MLS GK of All-Time

He’s the all-time leader in wins with 181.  In shutouts with 126.  In games started with 415 and minutes with 37,503.  As the Major League Soccer record book goes, no goalkeeper is listed higher than Nick Rimando in many categories of consequence.

This week, with MLSsoccer.com honoring goalkeepers, it’s only natural that Rimando was recognized as the best goalkeeper in league history.

The bracket-style tournament started with Rimando smothering Brad Guzan and Donovan Ricketts in the first two rounds before a late comeback in the online polls saw him oust Jimmy Nielsen in the semifinal.  Then, it was an end-to-end romp over Kasey Keller in the final that landed Rimando the honor.
