Monarchs Top Rangers 1-0

Sandy, Utah (Saturday August 13, 2016) Saturday night match against the Swope Park Rangers was the first and only time these teams matched up this season.  The game ended with the Monarchs winning 1-0 off a goal from Emilio Orozco, as the Monarchs move to 7-11-5 while the Swope Park Rangers drop to 8-9-5

Three key points of the game:

·         Emilio Orozco scored his first goal of this season off a free kick taken by Ricardo Velazco, that was deflected from the Swope Park goalie, Zac Lubin, and Orozco was able to get the rebound and bury it into the back of the net early in the 9th minute of play.
·         Lalo Fernandez kept a clean sheet for the second time this week and the sixth on the season.  Making 9 critical saves throughout the game to help the Monarchs earn three points Saturday night. 
·         Ameth Ramirez made his first appearance as a Real Monarch, after being signed to the Monarchs earlier this month.  Ramirez is on loan from Plaza Amador in Panama.
