Movsisyan's Goal Earns Him Team of the Week Honors

Yura Movsisyan became the ninth different Real Salt Lake player to earn MLSsoccer.com Team of the Week honors after scoring his fourth goal of the season Thursday in a 3-2 win over New York City FC, closing out a stretch of five straight road matches.

Movsisyan brought down a ball from Sunny, outdueled his defender and slid a shot past goalkeeper Josh Saunders for the second-half goal to spark RSL’s comeback victory – its third such win already this season.

His inclusion on Team of the Week gives RSL nine different players to earn the honor through 14 weeks, with no repeat performers yet.

Joining Movsisyan on Team of the Week are goalkeeper Jake Gleeson (Portland Timbers); defenders Keegan Rosenberry (Philadelphia Union), Ike Opara (Sporting Kansas City), Liam Ridgewell (Portland Timbers) and Jimmy Medranda (Sporting Kansas City); midfielders Vincent Noguiera (Philadelphia Union), Diego Chara (Portland Timbers), Cristian Roldan (Seattle Sounders FC) and Chris Pontius (Philadelphia Union); and forward Ola Kamara (Columbus Crew SC).

RSL forward Juan Manuel Martinez, whose fourth goal of the season in the second half was nominated for the AT&T Goal of the Week, was named to the seven-man bench.
