Power Rankings: Where Does RSL Rank?

Power Rankings 3 2017

Week 5 Power Rankings

Leading up to Week 5 there were plenty of talking points ahead of Real Salt Lake’s first regular season contest against Minnesota United.  Interim Head Coach and Director of Goalkeeping Daryl Shore led his second and final match in charge of the Claret-And-Cobalt before newly-minted Head Coach Mike Petke takes the reins ahead of RSL’s match against Vancouver on April 8 (7:30 pm kickoff).  After a 4-2 loss on the road to Minnesota, RSL looks to grab all three points against Vancouver.  But where do the power ranking pundits have RSL in the league spectrum?  Have a look below and leave us a comment:

“Is Mike Petke a miracle worker? We’re not talking about tactics or results. That wasn’t a dig at the talent in Sandy, either. Injuries have decimated the Real Salt Lake starting lineup, and unless Petke can make the likes of Joao PlataJusten Glad and Jordan Allen all better again, climbing the PRanks ladder (and the table) is going to be tough.”

“Mike Petke officially takes over as head coach on Monday and it couldn't come sooner following a disappointing 4-2 defeat at Minnesota.”

“A bad start to the season just keeps getting worse for RSL. Salt Lake’s respectable 0–0 draw with the Red Bulls over the international break gave way to one of the most surprising results in the league this weekend, a 4–2 loss at Minnesota United to give the latter its first win in MLS. RSL has been beset with injuries, but much more was expected of them than this. New coach Mike Petke has plenty of work to do.”
