RSL had quite the season opener in Orlando yesterday. The game kept fans on the edge of their seats over a thrilling match up. Simon Veness, writing for The Salt Lake Tribune, reported on the gripping game and gave us full updates on what went down.

The competition began right from the start. With both teams battling hard for the ball, RSL got a huge opportunity to go up 1-0 with a PK by Joao Plata, this was following a hard loss to Demar Phillips receiving 2 yellow cards and being ejected from the game.

The second half was no different. Orlando City’s Darwin Ceren took a charge at Javier Morales early in the second half leaving him with a red as well. RSL went up another goal leaving the visiting team with 2-0 lead over the home side.

But, with 4 minutes of stoppage, Orlando City netted 2 goals in 60 seconds, tying the game.

Many players had things to say about the match, including Head Coach Jeff Cassar.

"I can't recall ever being in a game like this," Cassar said. "Things happen fast and you have to be able to finish, but in the last six minutes, we just became fatigued, undisciplined, not recognizing the dangers and we paid the price."
