A dream came true for a young soccer star this week. Danilo Acosta signed on as a homegrown player for Real Salt Lake on Tuesday and can’t wait to get things started.
Acosta was a former member of the Real Salt Lake Arizona Academy for the past three years and the whole time has been working towards his dream, to play for Real Salt Lake.
Sean Walker, of KSL, published an article on the 18 year old and reported on his great accomplishments so far as a young player and the bright future to come.
Along with Acosta’s excitement about joining the team, the staff seems ready as well.
"He's another versatile player that can play a little bit at center back and a little bit at defensive mid," Cassar said in a statement from the club. "I think it's a wonderful opportunity for him to get himself as close to Kyle Beckerman as possible, watch and learn what he's doing before practice, during practice and after practice. That will give him some time to learn, adjust to the MLS game and hopefully contribute to the first team in the near future."
