Last week, Real Salt Lake came to the devastating reality of not making the playoffs. But the team kept some spark alive with their last home match against Municipal in CONCACAF Champions League Group Stage play.
James Edward of Desert News quoted Head Coach Jeff Cassar after the match who seems happy about the 1-0 result and hopeful that the outcome will give motivation to the team.
“Now in the offseason, we have our eyes on something at the beginning of the year next year, and I think that’s going to help everyone — not get over this year — but really start to focus on next year with a positive note,”
With their win last night, RSL is now in the quarterfinals of the CONCACAF Champions League in February.
