For the fourth time this season, Nick Rimando’s signature shot-stopping abilities have earned him MLSsoccer.com’s Save of the Week honors.
Last week against the San Jose Earthquakes, Chris Wondolowski looked like he was about to add to his 15 goals this season when Shea Salinas slid a ball across the edge of the six-yard box to him in front of an open net. However, Rimando ranged from right to left and blocked the would-be score to keep the match scoreless early in the second half.
For his efforts, Rimando earned 41.41% of the vote, outclassing the 34.76% earned by Evan Bush.
Previously Rimando won the honor in Weeks 1, 6 and 28.
