Real Salt Lake goalkeeper Nick Rimando has always been known for his excellent reflexes. On Saturday night against the Portland Timbers, those reactions were on full display as Rimando stymied Diego Valeri on a second-half scoring chance.
Maxi Urruti played a ball to Valeri on the run in the box and his first-time effort forced Rimando to spring to action to parry the shot over the bar for the save.
Rimando is seeking his third Save of the Week award of the season after previously winning in Week 1 and Week 6. His RSL teammate Jeff Attinella has won the honor three times – in Weeks 8, 21 and 22.
