News Stand: Changing Perspective

Garcia and Plata dance vs SKC 0621

News Stand 6/23/15

As a writer for The Spectrum, Justin Johnson is a regular in the press box at Rio Tinto Stadium covering Real Salt Lake from the press box for the last six years.  On Sunday he was able to sit in the crowd and wrote about the vastly different experience.

“While the match is clearly the central part of the experience, it certainly doesn’t encompass all of it,” Johnson wrote.  “For me, probably the most exciting part of being down in the crowd, was seeing people of all different backgrounds cheering and chanting in unison.  It was fun to get down and meet those that pour their support into Real Salt Lake because, let’s face it, if those 19,155 fans didn’t show up match after match, the franchise wouldn’t exist.”

The fans of Real Salt Lake not only keep the franchise moving forward but they also make going to RSL games a much better experience. To read the full article in The Spectrum and other news about Real Salt Lake, click on the links below.
