You need to know: Rimando is a penalty-stopping machine. Seriously. Check the stats. In his career, he has faced down some of the top goal-scorers in league history from 12 yards away and nothing but his 5-foot-9 frame between them and a goal. Yet just 44 of the 70 penalties (62.9%) he’s faced in his 16 MLS seasons have found the net. With RSL, opponents are just 23 for 40 (57.5%) since 2007. In the last three years, he has allowed just four goals in 13 (30.8%) penalty attempts including just two of five this year … astonishing.
