Real Salt Lake has long relied on its heartbeat in the midfield, Kyle Beckerman. The club’s captain has steered RSL to MLS Cup glory, and further finals in the CONCACAF Champions League, MLS Cup and U.S. Open Cup.
Now, he is proving to be just as vital to the U.S. National Team and wins over the Netherlands and Germany are just the latest in a list of accomplishments with Beckerman in the midfield.
In an article by Chris Kamrani of the Salt Lake Tribune, this matter is emphasized by Real Salt Lake Head Coach Jeff Cassar as well as U.S. National Team’s Jurgen Klinsmann.
"You can see that they play arguably their best soccer when he's in there," Cassar said in Kamrani’s story.
Added Klinsmann, “Kyle Beckerman is really just there for the team."
