News Stand: Busy May continues for RSL

Kyle Beckerman vs NYCFC 0523

News Stand 5/27/15

After last week’s shutout victory, Real Salt Lake is looking to end this busy month on a high note, with two games remaining before the month end, RSL could make a jump in the standings if they can string together a couple of positive results to end the month.

“In this league streaks are what make you jump up, if you can put together two, three win you make jumps in the standings,” said RSL coach Jeff Cassar, in an article by James Edward of Deseret News. “Against New York last week, the worst team in MLS, Real was very good going forward and played arguably its most complete match of the season,” writes Edward.

As the busy month of May comes to a close, RSL is getting healthier and showing signs of improvement. Edward writes, “Morales played 30 minutes last Saturday after missing three straight games with a concussion. Joao Plata came on for the final three minutes, a sign RSL is getting healthy again heading into the summer months.”

“We’re going to have to have a rotation of players.” Cassar continues, “We have to look at these three games as a whole, not just each game, and make sure they’re the freshest.”
