Four RSL players get international call-ups

November call ups

Real Salt Lake has announced that GK Nick Rimando, MF Kyle Beckerman, FW Alvaro Saborio and DF Carlos Salcedo have all received call-ups to their respective national teams this week.  Rimando and Beckerman are among 10 MLS players named to U.S. Manager Jurgen Klinsmann’s 25-man roster for international friendlies against Colombia on Friday in London and Ireland in Dublin on Nov. 18.  Saborio will join Costa Rica for an international friendly against Uruguay on Thursday.  And Salcedo was again included in Mexico’s U-21 camp, which serves as a preparatory squad for Mexico’s 2016 Olympic efforts.

Rimando and Beckerman will join the U.S. squad in London, where Klinsmann has his team training at Tottenham Hotspur’s training ground ahead of the match against Colombia at Craven Cottage, home stadium of Fulham of the English Premier League.  That match will be broadcast live on ESPN and kicks off at 12:45 p.m. MT.  They then will meet Ireland at Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Nov. 18, with a 12:45 p.m. MT start in a match televised on ESPN2.

Rimando has 16 career caps with the U.S senior team and three starts out of four appearances for the USMNT this year.  Beckerman is in his first call-up since the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, in which he started three Group Stage matches.  He has 40 career caps, including seven this year.

Real Salt Lake’s all-time leading scorer, Saborio is back with the Costa Rican National Team after fracturing his foot in preparation for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.  He has 33 career goals in 95 caps for ‘Los Ticos.’

Real Salt Lake Homegrown Player Carlos Salcedo will join the Mexican U-21’s for the third time this year.  Salcedo received his first call-up to the U-21’s this past April and joined the squad for other camps in July and September.
