RSL-Arizona Academy MF Corey Baird called to US Under-20's

SANDY, Utah – Real Salt Lake has announced that RSL-Arizona Academy MF Corey Baird has been named to the U.S. Under-20 Men’s National Team roster for a domestic training camp at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, N.C. from May 17-25.


The U.S. will play three friendlies while in the nine-day camp, facing off against NASL side Carolina RailHawks on May 20, the RailHawks U-23s on May 22 and USL Pro side Wilmington Hammerheads on May 24. The training camp will be led by U-20 Assistant Coach Brian Bliss while Tab Ramos is with the U.S. Men’s National Team at the World Cup preparation camp in Palo Alto, California.


Baird has helped guide the RSL-Arizona U-18 Academy team to the top of the U.S. Soccer Developmental Academy U-18 Western Conference standings with an 18-3-4 record, qualifying the side for the Academy playoffs. Baird has notched a total of eight goals for the Claret-and-Cobalt this season. A Stanford University commit, the California native previously took part in the U-20’s January domestic training camp in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.


A total of 21 players out of the 24 players named have ties with U.S. Soccer Development Academies, with 10 of those players currently with Academy clubs.


After the camp in North Carolina, the U-20 MNT will next meet at U.S. Soccer’s National Training Center in Carson, California, for the NTC Invitational Tournament in mid-July.
