Beltran added to roster for US Men's National Team camp

US Internationals - Part II

SANDY, Utah – Real Salt Lake DF Tony Beltran has been added to the roster for this week’s U.S. Men’s National Team camp ahead of Wednesday’s international friendly against Mexico at University of Phoenix Stadium. Beltran was added to the roster to replace injured Seattle Sounders FC DF Brad Evans.

Beltran is the fourth Real Salt Lake player to be called to the camp, joining Captain Kyle Beckerman, GK Nick Rimando and MF Luis Gil on U.S. Manager Jurgen Klinsmann’s roster. Klinsmann was in attendance at Rio Tinto Stadium on Saturday for RSL’s 3-0 win over Toronto FC; all four of RSL’s U.S. call-ups went the full 90 in the win, with Gil scoring a goal.

Beltran has two caps with the U.S. Men’s National Team. Both of his appearances with the full team came last year, with Beltran earning his first cap on Jan. 29, 2013 in a friendly draw against Canada before going the full 90 on July 13, 2013 in a 4-1 CONCACAF Gold Cup Group Stage win over Cuba at Rio Tinto Stadium.

Beltran, Beckerman, Rimando and Gil will arrive in Phoenix on Sunday. The Claret-and-Cobalt quartet is scheduled to arrive back in Salt Lake City shortly after Wednesday’s match, with all four players set to be available for selection for Saturday’s MLS Cup 2013 rematch at Sporting Kansas City.
