SANDY, Utah – Real Salt Lake announced on Tuesday that it has signed English MF Luke Mulholland. Per league and club policy, further terms of the deal will not be disclosed.

The 25-year-old Mulholland spent the last two seasons with the NASL’s Tampa Bay Rowdies. The Preston, England native was wildly successful in his two years in Tampa, scoring 17 goals and registering 13 assists in 51 league appearances, helping the team to the 2012 NASL Soccer Bowl title and becoming the first player to be named to the NASL Best XI in back-to-back seasons. Mulholland and RSL backup GK Jeff Attinella were teammates in Tampa in 2012.

Mulholland began his professional career in 2011 with the USL Pro Wilmington Hammerheads, where he was named 2011 USL Pro Rookie of the Year and was selected to the USL Pro Team of the Year. Mulholland signed with the NASL Minnesota Stars late in the NASL’s 2011 campaign, helping lead the team to that year’s NASL title.

Prior to his professional career, Mulholland played four seasons at Wingate University, recording 73 appearances and notching 37 goals and 26 assists. Mulholland was named a NCAA Division II First Team All-American and South Athletic Conference Player of the Year in 2009.
