Beckerman, Beltran & Rimando see action in All-Star Game

Kyle Beckerman All-Star Game

SANDY, Utah - Real Salt Lake’s Kyle Beckerman, Tony Beltran and Nick Rimando all saw action in Wednesday night’s MLS All-Star Game at Sporting Park, with Beltran playing the full 90, Beckerman starting and playing the first half and Rimando subbing in and playing the second 45 in MLS’s 3-1 loss to AS Roma.

All three players – who, prior to this week’s All-Star festivities, had been with the U.S. national team since June 30 for its run to the CONCACAF Gold Cup title – returned to Salt Lake after the game on Wednesday night. They’ll return to RSL training on Friday ahead of Saturday’s Rocky Mountain Cup Presented by Mark Miller Subaru match at the rival Colorado Rapids.

Both Beckerman and Rimando will be available for selection for Saturday’s match, which RSL must win in order to retain its seventh-straight Rocky Mountain Cup. Beltran will miss Saturday’s game due to a one-game red card suspension earned in RSL’s 1-0 win at Toronto FC on June 29.

All three players will be available for next Wednesday’s U.S. Open Cup Semifinal match against ex-RSL man Will Johnson and the Portland Timbers at Rio Tinto Stadium.
