Real Salt Lake and Costa Rica forward Alvaro Saborio had a good start to the final round of CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying on Wednesday night, scoring a goal and adding an assist in 90 minutes of action in Los Ticos 2-2 draw at Panama.

Costa Rica had a nightmare start to the match, conceding in the 15th and 28th minutes to fall behind 2-0. Saborio started Los Ticos’ comeback in the 39th minute, getting on the end of a cross just to right of the penalty spot and powerfully heading home inside the far post.

Saborio assisted on Costa Rica’s late equalizer, crossing to strike partner Bryan Ruiz for a fantastic bicycle kick finish in the 83rd minute.

Real Salt Lake’s leading scorer in 2012, Saborio is expected to join the Claret-and-Cobalt for the first time this preseason on Monday, Feb. 11, when the team will travel to Arizona for the FC Tucson Desert Diamond Cup. He had been with Costa Rica for the entirety of RSL's preseason, captaining his country to a Copa Centroamericana title on Jan. 27 before beginning preparations for Wednesday's game at Panama.
