RSL MATCH PREVIEW & NOTES: REAL SALT LAKE v. FC DALLAS – SATURDAY, MAY 26
RSL Hosts Western Rival FC Dallas with a 7:00 p.m. MT Kickoff

SANDY, Utah (Thursday, May 24, 2012)Real Salt Lake(8-3-2, 26 pts.; #2 in West) resumes MLS action on Saturday, May 26 with their first "repeat performance" of the season, as they once again face Western rival FC Dallas (3-7-4, 13 pts.; #7 in West) at Rio Tinto Stadium, presented by Budweiser. FCD enters the match with an eight-game winless streak, after a 2-0 loss to the Chicago Fire Wednesday cost them the Brimstone Cup. On the other hand, RSL is hoping to maintain a five-game unbeaten streak Saturday, with a 7:00 p.m. MT kickoff. Fans can enjoy pre-game activities in Sandy at the Carnival RealFestival at 5:00 p.m. on the stadium’s East Lawn.

The 1-1 draw at Dallas back on April 25 saw first-year RSLFWEmiliano Bonfigli come off the bench and shoot an equalizer in the 71' to erase a Brek Shea penalty kick from first-half added time. While that match saw the absences of DF Jamison Olave and FW Fabian Espindola due to suspensions, this contest will be lacking the enforcements of MF Kyle Beckerman and GK Nick Rimando who are currently at a US Men’s National Team camp.  This will result to Yordany Alvarez in the midfield, and Kyle Reynish in net, who remains unbeaten in league play after a 0-0 draw when starting at Chicago.

RSL History v. FCD

RSL last defeated long-time nemesis FC Dallas on July 9, 2011 at Rio Tinto Stadium, winning 2-0 on goals by Andy Williams & Fabian Espindola. However, three days later, Dallas returned the favor with a 2-0 U.S. Open Cup win at the Quarterfinal stage. Earlier last season, RSL drew 0-0 at what was then known as Pizza Hut Park, the first time in RSL history to have earned a point in North Texas. The feat was repeated on April 25 of this year in a 1-1 draw between the sides, when rookie FW Emiliano Bonfigli’s 2nd-half goal allowed RSL to overcome a bizarre 1st-half PK award.
