REAL SALT LAKE MATCH PREVIEW & NOTES:  RSL v. TORONTO FC – SATURDAY, APRIL 28
RSL Returns to Rio Tinto Stadium for 7:00 p.m. MT Kickoff vs. “Reds”
SANDY, Utah (Friday, April 26, 2012) – After enduring a tough three-game road trip, Real Salt Lake (5-3-1, 16 pts.; T-1st in West) will hope Saturday’s homecoming proves more successful, as the Utah side is set to face off against a Toronto FC (0-6-0, 0 pts.; 10th in East) side that remains in search of its first points of the 2012 campaign. RSL will look to bag a second consecutive home win with the 7:00 p.m. MT kickoff at Rio Tinto Stadium, which will be preceded by the Carnival Real pre-game festival at 5:00 p.m. on the stadium’s East Lawn.
Tickets remain available for tomorrow’s match versus Toronto, and can be purchased online via the Zions Bank Ticket Outlet on RealSaltLake.com, over the phone by calling 801-727-2700, or in person at the Rio Tinto Stadium Box Office beginning at 10:00 on game day.
Saturday’s contest should mark the return of RSL’s FW Fabian Espíndola and DF Jamison Olave, the duo eligible to return to the field after having served suspensions during Wednesday’s 1-1 draw at FC Dallas, this after the pair was shown red cards last weekend at the San Jose Earthquakes. As RSL is supplemented with players, Toronto remains in limbo at the forward spot, as they may have to face the Claret-and-Cobalt without first-choice forwards Danny Koevermans and Nick Soolsma due to injuries. Real Salt Lake will be looking to remain atop the Western Conference, a perch it currently shares with the Earthquakes, while the pressure is mounting for Toronto FC, as a failure to acquire any points tomorrow will place them in a tie with the 1999 Kansas City Wizards for the worst start in MLS history.

RSL History v. Toronto FC
Real Salt Lake will hope to better their neck-and-neck regular season record of 4-4-2 against Toronto FC on Saturday night, a mark that doesn’t include RSL’s win and draw in CONCACAF Champions League play in the fall of 2010. Since losing their first Utah-based meeting in 2007, RSL has posted five straight wins over TFC in the Beehive State, the Claret-and-Cobalt outscoring the Reds 15-6 in all games contested in Utah.
Last year’s two battles resulted in a home win for each side, starting on June 25 when RSL proved victorious in a 3-1 result, a first-half goal by Nat Borchers (39’) and Álvaro Saborío brace (42’ and 60’) doing the damage for the Utahns. Their most recent confrontation resulted in a Toronto triumph on August 13, when Ecuadorian FW Joao Plata managed to score in the 77th minute, leaving RSL with a 0-1 loss.
