RSL Looks to Rebound Saturday with Tough Road Test at Portland Timbers;
Utah Side’s Three-Week MLS Reserve League Run Closes Tuesday with Clash in Chicago
SANDY, Utah (Monday, March 26, 2012) – Real Salt Lake (2-1-0, 6 pts.) will try to rebound from its first loss of the season this Saturday, March 31, when the Claret-and-Cobalt will make their lone 2012 visit to Oregon for a tough road test against the Portland Timbers (1-1-1, 4 pts.). ABC4’s live, high-definition coverage from JELD-WEN Field will start with the 8:00 p.m. MT kickoff and conclude with a 30-minute post-game wrap up at 10:00 p.m. Fans will also be able to listen to the action live via the team’s official radio partners: ESPN 700/ESPN700Sports.com and La Gran D 102.3 FM.
Coming off the heels of its first defeat of the campaign over the weekend against Chivas USA, Real Salt Lake will have the unenviable task of trying to get back into the win column in the intimidating atmosphere of JELD-WEN Field, where RSL dropped a 0-1 result last April 30 (Kenny Cooper 22) in its first-ever visit to the Rose City. The two sides also met in last year’s regular season finale at Rio Tinto Stadium on Oct. 22, when RSL had to settle for a 1-1 draw after seeing FW Álvaro Saborío’s 45th minute tally offset by DF Futty Danso’s 91st minute equalizer.
RSL Reserves End Three-Week Run Tuesday in Chicago
The Real Salt Lake Reserves (0-1-1, 1 pt.) will close out their three-week opening run in MLS Reserve League play tomorrow, Tuesday, March 27, when they head east to take on the Chicago Fire Reserves (0-0-0). Kickoff at the Toyota Park Practice Field in Bridgeview, Ill., is set for 9:00 a.m. MT, and fans will be able to follow the main match events as they happen live via RSL’s gameday Twitter feed, @RSLkickoff.
