Chivas USA enters the “MLS Class of 2005” reunion against RSL coming off a pair of tough 0-1 defeats at home and will likely be without the services of star striker Juan Pablo Ángel, who is still suffering from concussion-like symptoms after missing last weekend’s defeat against Vancouver Whitecaps FC.

RSL History v. Chivas USA

While RSL enters Saturday’s affair against Chivas USA trailing 7-9-4 in the all-time regular season series, most of that damage was inflicted in the early years of the rivalry, as the Claret-and-Cobalt are undefeated in their last five contests against the Goats (4-0-1) dating back to 2009. RSL is 4-2-3 against Chivas USA at home, including last year’s 1-0 win (Johnson 87) on May 7 that was infamously marred by a horrific left ankle injury suffered by MF Javier Morales that kept the RSL playmaker sidelined for the next four months. The Utah side would also post a favorable 1-0 result in the second meeting of the season on August 27, FW Álvaro Saborío’s 11th minute goal holding up despite RSL having to play a man down for the final 66 minutes.
