RSL’s “Quick Restarts”

  • Real Salt Lake Head Coach Jason Kreis will kick off another season of Tuesday afternoon visits on ESPN 700’s “Bill Riley Show” today at 4:40 p.m., when the sideline boss will catch up with “The Voice of RSL” live from Tucson.

  • MF Jonny Steele returned to the field for a portion of the RSL’s training session alongside the full squad for the first time during the Tucson camp on Monday. The 26-year-old is recovering from a knock to his right knee suffered when he was kicked during RSL’s scrimmage against D.C. United back on Feb. 14.

  • Trialists DF Kasali Casal and FW John Owoeri were cut from the RSL camp over the weekend, leaving DF Lance Laing as the only new trialist during the Tucson camp to carry over into the second week.

  • Speaking of Laing, the Jamaican left back celebrates his 24th birthday today in Tucson. He’ll be hoping for a late birthday present in the upcoming days, as a good showing in tomorrow night’s Desert Diamond Cup match against New England could result in locking up a coveted spot on the Claret-and-Cobalt when MLS’ roster compliance date hits on Thursday.
