RSL’s “Quick Restarts”

  • Real Salt Lake had a couple of challenges pop up during its first day in Tucson, most notably approximately 20 bags containing some of the team’s training gear and equipment not making the flight down to the Grand Canyon State with the squad. With some help from folks at FC Tucson and the RSL-Arizona Academy, disaster was averted and the team was able to conduct training a little later than it had hoped at the Kino Sports Complex … the timing resulting in a snafu with the sprinklers that cut out part of the field during the last two drills of the day.

  • Joining the RSL contingent in Arizona was trialist DF Lance Laing, a Jamaican left back that earned NASL Best XI honors in 2011 with the Ft. Lauderdale Strikers. Prior to jumping to the U.S. last year, the 23-year-old Laing (who turns 24 a week from today) plied his trade in Jamaica for power Harbour Town (2007-2010) and Village United (2010-11).
