RSL-NewsStand

Lots to get through in the Saturday News Stand, including a closer look at midfielder Luis Gil, an update on an injured RSL midfielder, analysis of the sign-and-trade return of Eddie Johnson to the ranks of MLS and plenty of material to look at and listen to in the “A/V Club” …

RSL’s “Quick Restarts”

  • MF Will Johnson will be sidelined for the short term due to an adductor injury that has progressed throughout the opening of the preseason. In the upcoming weeks, the Canadian international will undergo a sports hernia repair procedure in Germany, a minimally-invasive surgery pioneered by Dr. Ulrike Muschaweck that has allowed athletes to return to action within 3-4 weeks.

  • Today’s session will mark one of the final practices for RSL at its XANGO Field facility in Lehi. RSL and XANGO, the first company to sign a jersey-front sponsorship deal with an MLS club, opened the facility in the shadow of the company’s Thanksgiving Point area headquarters more than four-and-a-half years ago on July 18, 2007. RSL will open its new practice home, America First Field, in the weeks following its return from Tucson.
