RSL History v. Vancouver
Real Salt Lake and Vancouver celebrated their first-ever meeting back on June 4 at Rio Tinto Stadium, and it was Real Salt Lake doing all of the celebrating afterwards following a 2-0 victory. In that contest, newly positioned forward Jean Alexandre tallied his first MLS goal in the 32nd minute and followed that up with his first league assist on FW Fabian Espíndola’s 79th minute insurance tally, leading to the Haitian international being named the MLS Player of the Week for Week 12. Despite their poor overall record, Vancouver has been a .500 team Empire Field during its first MLS campaign, posting a 2-2-5 mark at its temporary home as the Canadian club readies to move to the renovated BC Place facility in the fall.
